Storage CleanerPrivacy policy
The short version: Storage Cleaner looks at your files only on your Mac. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Nothing about your files ever leaves your Mac.
What stays on your Mac
Scanning, the list of items found, their sizes and last-used dates, your settings, the free-trial counters and the Undo history are all stored on your Mac, in the app's preferences, its Application Support folder and your Keychain. We never receive them.
Mac App Store edition
The Mac App Store edition makes no network connections of its own. Purchases and the free trial are handled by Apple through the App Store; see Apple's privacy policy. We don't receive your Apple Account details, only Apple's standard, anonymous sales reports.
Direct-download edition
The version downloaded from storagecleaner.dev connects to the internet in exactly two cases:
- License activation and checks. When you activate a license, the app sends your license key and your Mac's name (for example “Alex's MacBook Air”, so you can tell your activations apart) to Dodo Payments, our payment provider. Afterwards it periodically sends the license key to confirm it's still valid. Nothing else is sent.
- Update checks. The app downloads
storagecleaner.dev/appcast.xmlto see whether a new version exists, and downloads updates from GitHub. Like any web request, these reveal your IP address to the servers involved (Cloudflare and GitHub); no other information is sent.
Purchases
Direct purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record: it collects your name, email address, billing country and payment details to process the payment, issue your license key and handle taxes, under its own privacy policy. We see the resulting order (your name, email, country and what you bought) so we can support you. We never see your full card details.
This website
storagecleaner.dev is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Cloudflare processes standard request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site. The activation page reads the license key that Dodo Payments adds to its address after checkout and shows it only in your browser; it isn't sent anywhere.
If you email [email protected], we use your message and address only to reply to you.
Your choices and rights
You can deactivate a license in Settings › License, and delete all local data by removing the app together with its preferences and Application Support folder. To access or delete order information we hold, email [email protected]. Storage Cleaner isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect data from them.
